What is happening?

(B5304 High Street, Wigton) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the B5304, High Street, Wigton from a point approx. 110m south east of its junction with the B5302, King Street, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 30m.

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via: the unrestricted sections of B5304 High Street, B5302 King Street, A596 Wigton to Thursby, A595 Thursby to Wigton, B5305 and Syke Road.

The Order will come into operation on 23rd November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day, between 08:00 and 18:00 hours, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
