Temporary Road Closure
Michelham Gardens, Twickenham.

The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate sewer cleansing works, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Michelham Gardens, Twickenham.
Whilst the works take place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in Michelham Gardens, Twickenham from outside number 19 to the junction with Strawberry Vale.
Whilst Michelham Gardens, Richmond is closed, an alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Michelham Gardens and Strawberry Vale.
The order will come into effect on 24 November 2025.
These works are anticipated to be in progress on 24 November 2025 only. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.
The prohibitions apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by prescribed traffic signs.
Nothing in the Order applies to:
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the
execution of the said works or any public service or
utility vehicle;
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction
of a police officer in uniform or a civil enforcement
officer; or
(c) any vehicle being used for Police, Fire brigade or
ambulance purposes.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames (Prescribed Route) (One-way Working) (No. 1) Experimental Order 2025
THIRD CROSS ROAD, TWICKENHAM – ONE WAY WORKING

The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, on 19 November 2025 have made the above Order under sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The Order will come into force on 28 November 2025.
The general effect of the Order is to introduce one-way working in Third Cross Road, the effect being that no person shall cause or permit any motor vehicle to proceed in Third Cross Road in a direction other than south-easterly.
Copies of particulars giving further details of the scheme: –
(a) can be inspected, quoting Reference 25/219, at the
Civic Centre (Central Reception, ground floor), 44
York Street, Twickenham between 9.15am and 5pm
on Mondays to Fridays, except for Bank and other
public holidays; and
(b) may be viewed on the Council’s web-site at
In pursuance of section 10(2) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 the Director – Traffic and
Engineering of the London Borough of Richmond
upon Thames, as the specified officer, or some person
authorised in that behalf by that officer may, if it appears
to that officer or to that person essential in the interests
of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of
traffic, or of the provision of suitable and adequate
parking facilities on the highway, or for preserving or
improving the amenities of the areas through which the
roads affected by the Orders run, modify or suspend the
Orders or any provision thereof.
If the provisions of the Order continues in operation for
a period of not less than six months, the Council will
consider in due course whether the provisions should
be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely by
means of an Order under section 6 of the said Act
of 1984. Persons wishing to object to or support the
making of such an Order for the purpose of such
reproduction and continuation in force may, within
the period of six months referred to above) send a
statement in writing of their objection and the grounds of
that objection to the address below.

If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order
or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they
are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said
Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said
Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person
may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order
was made.

The Council of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate sewer cleansing works, they have made a temporary Traffic Order, the effect of which will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic in Stanley Gardens Road, Teddington.
Whilst the works take place no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed, wait or stand in Stanley Gardens Road, Teddington from the junction with Elmtree Road to the junction with Stanley Road.
Whilst Stanley Gardens is closed, an alternative route for diverted traffic will be available via Stanley Road, Victor Road, Elmtree Road.
The order will come into effect on 24 November 2025.
These works are anticipated to be in progress from 24 November 2025 to 25 November 2025. The order will remain in force for a period of 18 months, to allow for unexpected events and possible remedial works.
