ROADS (TEMPORARY ROAD
CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
On 1 December 2025 the North Lanarkshire Council made the abovenamed Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of Emergency Services Vehicles and authorised vehicles associated with the demolition works) on Sunday 7 December 2025 from 0800 hours to 1600 hours by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
Road Closures
A723, Merry Street Motherwell will be closed from the extended East kerbline of Mill Road to the extended West kerbline of Jerviston Street
Albert Street, Motherwell will be closed from the extended North kerbline of Dalziel Street to its junction with Coursington Road
Allan Street Motherwell will be closed over its entire length
Calder Court Motherwell will be closed over its entire length
Coursington Crescent Motherwell will be closed over its entire length
Coursington Gardens Motherwell will be closed over its entire length
Coursington Place Motherwell will be closed over its entire length
Coursington Road will be closed over its entire length
Draffen Court Motherwell will be closed over its entire length
Draffen Street Motherwell will be closed over its entire length Leslie Street Motherwell will be closed over its entire length Wilson Street will be closed over its entire length Alternative routes:
Vehicles Not Exceeding 4.6m (15’ 0’’) in height on the south-west side of the closure wishing to access the north-east side of the closure should proceed via the A723 Merry Street, A721 Menteith Road, A721 Brandon Street, A721 Windmillhill Street, A721 Craigneuk Street, Robberhall Road, New Craig Road and A723 Merry Street to the north-east side of the closure. Vehicles on the north-east side of the closure wishing to access the south-west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
Vehicles Over 4.6m (15’ 0’’) in height on the south-west side of the closure wishing to access the north-east side of the closure should proceed via the A723 Merry Street, A721 Menteith Road, A721 Brandon Street, A721 Windmillhill Street, B754 Shields Road, B754 Netherton Road, B754 Castlehill Road, A71 Main Street, A71 Overtown Road, A721 Wishaw Road, A721
Stewarton Street, A721 Main Street, A721 Glasgow Road, A721 Shieldmuir Street, A721 Craigneuk Street, Robberhall Road, New Craig Road and A723, Merry Street to the north-east side of the closure.
Vehicles over 4.6m (15’ 0”) in the height on the north-east side of the closure wishing to access the south-west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
The Order will come into operation at 0800 hours and will remain in operation until 1600 hours on Sunday 7 December 2025.
