Croydon, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14

AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

STANGER ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC & PARKING

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works to install a new water connection on behalf of Thames Water, they have made an Order to the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Stanger Road, South Norwood.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

    a) Stanger Road will be closed between its junctions with Gresham Road and Crowther Road.

    b) Parking will be suspended and waiting and loading restrictions will apply at any time in the permit/payment parking places located within the above closure area.

  3. During the closure, vehicular traffic will be diverted as detailed below.

    • Via Crowther Road, Portland Road and Doyle Road.

    • Via Clifford Road, Portland Road, Balfour Road and Stanger Road.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed in five days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

    (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

  6. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such an extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

DOWNS ROAD, COULSDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate works to cleanse and survey surface water assets, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic in Downs Road.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place Downs Road will be closed to vehicular traffic between its junctions with Fairdene Road and Ditches Lane.

  1. During the closure the alternative route for diverted traffic will be via Reddown Road and Fairdene Road, as appropriately signposted.

  2. The Order will come into operation on 04 December 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed within two days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  3. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works,

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

GOODENOUGH WAY, COULSDON - TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate cable repairs by UKPN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic on Goodenough Way, Coulsdon.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place Goodenough Way will be closed outside No. 105 Goodenough Way.

  3. During the closure the diversion route for traffic will be as specified below.

    • Via Goodenough Way, Lacy Green, Ellis Road, and Goodenough Road

  4. The Order will come into operation on 04 December 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out within five days. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (b) a vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
