What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN MILL STREET, ASHWELL) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Mill Street, Ashwell from its junction with Rollys Lane north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Springhead, a distance of approximately 324m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Mill Street, Swan Street, Church Lane, High Street and Springhead.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 26 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHURCH END, BARLEY ORDER 2025)

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Church End, Barley from its junction with B1368 London Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 40m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B1368 High Street, B1039 High Road and Church End.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telecom pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 21 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
