Hertfordshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS ON CHISWELL GREEN LANE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of Chiswell Green Lane, St Albans from its junction with St Stephen Public Footpath No.082 north eastwards to a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.35 Chiswell Green Lane, a distance of approximately 133m (“the Road”), when signs are in place.

The Order is needed to facilitate temporary construction access on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHITE HEDGE DRIVE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of White Hedge Drive, St Albans from its junction with Links View north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Ladies Grove, a distance of approximately 270m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Links View and Ladies Grove.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LONG BUTLERS, WHEATHAMPSTEAD) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Long Butlers, Wheathampstead from its junction with Wheathampstead Road south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Croftwell, a distance of approximately 393m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Wheathampstead Road, Meadway and Croftwell.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LOOM LANE, RADLETT) ORDER NO.3 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Loom Lane, Radlett from its junction with Aldenham Avenue south eastwards to its junction with Maytrees, a distance of approximately 119m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Loom Lane, New Road, B462 Watford Road, Park Road, A5183 Watling Street and Loom Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN LINWOOD ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Linwood Road, Harpenden from its junction with Broadstone Road northwards and north westwards for its entire length (“the Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED BETWEEN NO.9 AND NO.11 TARRANT DRIVE AND THE FOOTPATH SITUATED BETWEEN NO.54 AND NO.56 COLESWOOD ROAD, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath (“the Footpaths”):-

1. the footpath situated between No.9 and No.11 Tarrant Drive, Harpenden from its junction with Tarrant Drive south westwards to its junction with Linwood Road, a distance of approximately 70m.

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east side of Tarrant Drive, the footway situated on the north side of Broadstone Road and the footway situated on the west side of Linwood Road.

2. the footpath situated between No.54 and No.56 Coleswood Road, Harpenden from its junction with Coleswood Road south eastwards to its junction with Linwood Road, a distance of approximately 20m.

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south east side of Coleswood Road, the footway situated on the south west side of Grove Road, the footway situated on the north west side of Broadstone Road and the footway situated on the west side of Linwood Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 November 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF SUN LANE, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sun Lane, Harpenden from its junction with A1081 Luton Road north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Hollybush Lane, a distance of approximately 674m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via A1081 Luton Road and Hollybush Lane.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
