Wiltshire - Multiple Traffic Notices
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all traffic: A) C304 (Part), Mere; from its junction with Barrow Street Lane to its property known as Chilpitts House. B) C304 (Part), Mere; from its junction with Barrow Street Lane to its junction with Cunnage Lane. C) Cunnage Lane, Mere; from its junction with C304 to its junction with C297. D) C297 (Part), Mere; from its junction with C305 to its junction with Cunnage Lane to enable Wessex Water to carry out mains replacement and associated works. Alternative route via C304 (unaffected length) – C297 (unaffected length) – A303 and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
This Order will come into operation on 01 December 2025 and the closure will be required 24 hours a day until 18 December 2025 and then will be required on 06 January 2026 until 20 March 2026. The phases will run consecutively.
It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 18 months.
