What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAY
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (WALKERINGHAM BRIDLEWAY NO.13) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.3 ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of “The Nottinghamshire County Council (Walkeringham Bridleway No.13) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2024” (which came into force on 30th May 2024 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order which remained in force until 29th November 2024 and was further continued in force by a Continuation No.2 Order which remains in force until 29th November 2025 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 29th November 2026 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect:-
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed,
(d) cause any animal to proceed, in the following length of Bridleway at Walkeringham in the
District of Bassetlaw: -
Walkeringham Bridleway No.13, (Brickyard Lane) where it crosses the canal only.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route available.
If the works are not completed within the above period, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to protect public safety due to an unsafe bridge over the canal.
