Essex - Temporary Road Closures due to Maintenance and Utility Works

What is happening?

Essex County Council
(Meadowend, Ridgewell)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Meadowend, Ridgewell in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 140m north east of the junction with Ridgewell Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WGGDVL2R22SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling and splicing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Meadowend, Tilbury Green, Tilbury Road, Ashen Road, A1017, Meadowend and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Station Road, Sible Hedingham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Sible Hedingham in the District of Braintree from its junction with Christmas Field for a distance of approximately 20m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th December 2025 for 1 night (20:00-06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (AD03165288245 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while remedial works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via Bayley Street, Pye Corner, Nunnery Street, A1017 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Tilbury Road, Tilbury Juxta Clare)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the Order: To temporarily close that length of Tilbury Road, Tilbury Juxta Clare in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Aletha Farm Place for a distance of approximately 60m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WGGDVL2R11SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling and splicing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Tilbury Road, Airfield Road, Foxes Road, The Street, Ridgewell Road, Ashen Road, Tilbury Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Bulford Mill Lane, Cressing)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bulford Mill Lane, Cressing in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 285m south of its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 55m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th December 2025 for 1 night (00:30-04:30), or where stated on a valid permit (KL735BRA-19-76-111225 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while level crossing repairs and rail inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
An alternative route is available via Bulford Mill Lane, Mill Lane, Witham Road, Bulford Lane, Station Road, The Street, The Green, Bulford Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 14th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Goldingtons Farm Road/Elms Hall Road, Colne Engaine)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Goldingtons Farm Road/Elms Hall Road, Colne Engaine in the District of Braintree, from both of the junctions of Brook Street and Stoneley Park to Elms Hall Road a distance of approximately 660m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 3rd December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2392020 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Elms Hall Road, Station Road, Brook Street, Halstead Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 13th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Letches Lane, Greenstead Green) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Letches Lane, Greenstead Green in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Plaistow Green Road to its junction with White Horse Avenue a distance of approximately 1490m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2389934 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Tidings Hill, Kings Road, A131, Plaistow Green Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 13th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
