(Various Roads (Northeast of the B1023 Factory Hill) Tiptree) (20mph Zone) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under sections 84(1)(a) (2), and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the order: To implement a ‘20mph Zone’.
Road — Description
Apricot Mews — From its junction with Honey Lane for its entire length.
Damson Close — From its junction with Honey Lane for its entire length.
Greengage Close — From its junction with Honey Lane for its entire length.
Honey Lane — From a point approximately 18 metres north of its junction with the B1023 Factory Hill Roundabout, for the rest of its remaining lengths.
Raspberry Fields — From its junction with Honey Lane for its entire length.
Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 01 December 2025

Application to the High Court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Daniell Drive, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Daniell Drive, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Hazell Avenue to its junction with Smallwood Road a distance of approximately 180m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2388302 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footway and cycleway defects works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Hazell Avenue, John Kent Avenue, Smallwood Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Dedham Road, Langham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dedham Road, Langham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 85m north west of its junction with Rectory Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th December 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG7R0K2RPTSB01AB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Dedham Road, Straight Road, Boxted Road, A134, A1341, A12, Ipswich Road, Dedham Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Nightingale Hill, Langham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nightingale Hill, Langham in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 655m south west of its junction with Dedham Road for a distance of approximately 365m in a south westerly then southeasterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th December 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG7R0K2RPTSB01AA – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Nightingale Hill, Grove Hill, Wick Road, Park Lane, Moor Road, School Road, Greyhound Hill, Dedham Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Packards Lane, Wormingford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Packards Lane, Wormingford in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 214m south east of its junction with Fordham Road for a distance of approximately 170m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02242549596 – Connect Highways). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while vegetation clearance works are undertaken by Connect Highways.
An alternative route is available via Fordham Road, B1508, Packards Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Smythes Green, Layer Marney) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Smythes Green, Layer Marney in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 300m south east then south west of its junction with Maldon Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166518284/1 – Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stoptap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
An alternative route is available via B1023, B1023 and vice versa. (with access only) including Smythes Green, Clears Road, Newbridge Road, Chapel Road.
The Order will come into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(St Fillan Road, Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of St Fillan Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with St Monace Way to its junction with St Dominic Road a distance of approximately 170m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 15th December 2025 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2393210 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via St Monace Way, St Faith Road, St Dominic Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Frating Road, Ardleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Frating Road, Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Park Lane for a distance of approximately 625m in a south easterly direction (upcentre of the roundabout at the Ardleigh Road). The closure is scheduled to commence on 1st December 2025 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2385872 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while kerbing and carriageway repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Ardleigh Road, Colchester Road, Bromley Road, Slough Lane, Frating Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 13th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Tye Lane, Elmstead Market & Keelars Lane, Elmstead)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Colchester Road, Wivenhoe)
(Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
1. To temporarily close that length of Tye Lane, Elmstead Market in the District of Tendring from a point approximately 85m west of its junction with Brightlingsea Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly then north westerly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Keelars Lane, Elmstead in the District of Tendring from its junction with Tye Lane for a distance of approximately 110m in a south easterly then south westerly direction.
3. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction at that length of Colchester Road, Wivenhoe, from the junction of Boundary Road to the junction of Rectory Hill as cited in the "The Colchester Borough Council (Colchester Road, Wivenhoe) (Weight Restriction) Order, 1984” for the duration of the closures only.
The closures/suspension are scheduled to commence on 17th December 2025 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WB8PTH8Y02SB & BC008WG8PTH8Y03SB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures/suspension are required for the safety of the public and workforce while jointing and cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via B1027, B1028, Rectory Road, Rectory Hill, Alresford Road, Keelars Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Rectory Road, Little Bentley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rectory Road, Little Bentley in the District of Tendring, from its junction with Harwich Road to its junctions with Manningtree Road a distance of approximately 700m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th December 2025 for 11 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2387168 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway repair and signage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Manningtree Road, Little Bromley Road, Harwich Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 13th November 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Station Road, Ardleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Ardleigh in the District of Tendring, from a point approximately 60m north west of its junction with Kiln Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th November 2025 for 1 night (1:40–06:50), or where stated on a valid permit (KL735LTN1-56-05-301125 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
An alternative route is available via B1027, A137, A133, B1029 and vice versa.

(Various Roads, City of Colchester) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.21) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

"The Essex County Council (Colchester City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction and the existing and any existing parking and waiting restrictions will be suspended in their entirety. Clearway marking exemptions contained in the aforementioned Consolidation Orders and to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 13th November 2025, exact dates will be specified on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.
