Rufford Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Driving

What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (RUFFORD LANE, OLLERTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024 (N25-402)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) (b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Ollerton in the District of Newark & Sherwood.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Rufford Lane, Ollerton - From a point 370 metres East of its junction with the A614, Old Rufford Road, Edwinstowe East wards for 135 metres

2. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

3. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:

From Thursday 4th December 2025
Until Friday 4th June 2027 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
A614 - A617 - A616 and vice versa.

The Order will come into force on Thursday 4th December 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary. The Order shall continue in force until the safety concerns are resolved (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required due to safety concerns in the restricted section.
