What is happening?

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
A2 London Road, Newington (Service Road). (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A2 London Road, Newington from 1st December 2025, with estimated completion by 5th December 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed adjacent to numbers 37a to 31, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Hill, Hernhill, ME13 9JX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025
To allow overhead cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Hill, Hernhill from 2nd December 2025, for up to one day between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between West View and The Lodge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Hill, Staple Street, Kemsdale Road, Kays Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Clockhouse Lane, Boughton Under Blean, ME13 9LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Clockhouse Lane, Boughton Under Blean from 18th December 2025 with estimated completion by 19th December 2025, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Brenley Lane and Brenley Farm Track, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Selling Road, Brenley Lane, Clockhouse Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Faversham Road, Newnham, ME9 0LB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025
To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Faversham Road, Newnham from 18th December 2025 with estimated completion by 19th December 2025, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between ‘Whitehall’ and ‘Martlesham’, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Faversham Road, A2 London Road, Lynsted Lane, The Street, Christophers Row, Doddington Lane, Chequers Hill, The Street, Doddington Lane, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Monkshill Road, Hernhill, Graveney & Highstreet Road, Hernhill. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025
To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Monkshill Road, Hernhill, Graveney & Highstreet Road, Hernhill from 1st December 2025, with estimated completion by 23rd December 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary 30 mph speed restriction will be imposed on Monkshill Road & Highstreet Road for the entire length of the roads, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
School Lane, Borden. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of School Lane, Borden from 6th December 2025, with estimated completion by 7th December 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Munsgore Lane and Sunnyside, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chestnut Street, Key Street Roundabout, A2 Key Street, Wises Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
