What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAY
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BEESTON BRIDLEWAY NO.74, ATTENBOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be: -
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed and
(d) cause any animal to proceed, in the following length of bridleway at Beeston in the Borough of Broxtowe :-
Beeston Bridleway No.74 - the path from the Nature Reserve Visitor Centre to Attenborough Village and Church, at the point where it crosses an Environment Agency Flood Gate, as shown on the accompanying plan.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows: -
From Monday 1st December 2025 to Friday 5th December 2025 inclusive
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is a short non definitive alternative footpath (for walkers only) as shown on the plan.
The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the path. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.
The prohibition is required to enable inspection and maintenance to the Environment Agency Flood Gates/ Sluices, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the path.
THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED
THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 25TH DAY OF NOVEMBER 2025 .
