NOTICE OF MODIFICATION ORDER

SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

THE DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT OF PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY FOR THE COUNTY OF LANCASHIRE

ADDITION AND DELETION OF FOOTPATH AT WHITECROFT BARN, MELLOR

DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above Order, made on the 12th November 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the area, by deleting part of Footpath FP0325049 from its junction with Whitecroft Lane running generally south-west then south through the building and garden of the property known as Whitecroft Barn to the boundary with a pasture, and adding a footpath from a junction with Whitecroft Lane running south along the driveway of Whitecroft Barn then south-west through the former farmyard and the unmarked edge of that farmyard to the boundary between the garden and the pasture.

The length of the route to be added is 50m and varies in width between 2 metres and 5.5 metres.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be found and downloaded free from our website at www.lancashire.gov.uk. Digital copies or paper copies may be requested by emailing francesca.jackson1@lancashire.gov.uk.

Any representations about, or objections to the Order may be sent in writing by email to francesca.jackson1@lancashire.gov.uk or by letter to Francesca Jackson, Lancashire County Council, PO Box 100, County Hall, Preston, PR1 0LD (REF: LSG4/888.4340/FJ4) not later than the 31st December 2025 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which they are made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, Lancashire County Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Environment, may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
