Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Spray Leaze, Ludgershall; from its junction with Biddesden Lane for its entire length.

B) St Nicholas Close, Ludgershall; from its junction with Spray Leaze for its entire length to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, replacement of existing road markings, adjustment of ironwork and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 16 December 2025 and the closure will be required 09:30 and 16:30 for 4 days. C) C25 (Part), Fonthill Gifford; from a point approximately 50m west of its property known as No.33 Stopps Hill for a distance of approximately 450m in a north westerly direction to enable BT to carry out pole testing and associated works. Alternative route via C25 (unaffected length) – C43 – B3089 – C25 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 December 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. D) B3081 (Part), Tollard Royal; from its property known as Waterloo Farm for a distance of approximately 630m in a south easterly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via B3081 (unaffected length) – A354 – A350 – A30 – C295 – B3081 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 18 December 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 2 days. E) C321 (Part), Grimstead, Pitton and Farley; from its junction with Clarendon Road to its junction with Grimstead Road to enable Wessex Internet to carry out communication equipment repairs and associated works. Alternative route via Grimstead Road – Adams Mere – Butter Furlong Road – Clarendon Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 15 December 2025 and the closure will be required for 1 day between 09:00 and 16:00. For further information please contact Wessex Internet on 02394 318286.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

F) C295 (Part), Donhead St Mary; from its junction with A30 to its junction with Charlton Lane to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out coring and associated works. Alternative route via C295 (unaffected length) – C312 – A30 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. G) C314 (Part), Donhead St Andrew; from its junction with Fortis Hill to its property known as Shirelycombe to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing and associated works. Alternative route via C314 (unaffected length) – A30 – C61 – C314 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. H) Bridge Road (Part), Bishops Cannings; from its property known as The Bridges for a distance of approximately 30m in a northerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out bridge and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025 and the closure will be in place between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 until 28 November 2025. I) Church Road, Pitton and Farley; from its junction with Farley Hall to its junction with The Street to enable Wessex Internet to carry out communication equipment repairs and associated works. Alternative route via The Street – Parsonage Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025 and the closure will be required until 28 November 2025. J) A354 (Part), Donhead St Bissett; from its junction with Rockbourne Road to its property known as Beech Cottage to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via A354 (unaffected length) – A338 – A31 – A350 – A354 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 November 2025 and the closure will be required for 1 day. For further information please contact Tarmac on behalf of Wiltshire Council on 07803 953739. Orders A) to J) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to temporarily close to all vehicles, motor propelled vehicles, caravans, horses, horse drawn vehicles and pedal cycles:

a) Byway 10 (Part), Durrington; from its junction with Fargo Road to its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury / C506.

b) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with Byway 10, Durrington / crossing the C506 over to its junction with A303 (T).

c) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with A303 (T) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake.

d) Byway 1 (Part), Wilsford cum Lake; from its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury to its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James.

e) Byway 11 (Part), Berwick St James; from its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake to its junction with Byway 16, Woodford.

f) Byway 16 (Part), Woodford; from its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James to its junction with A360, Druid’s Lodge.

g) Byway 11 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with A303 (T) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 2, Wilsford cum Lake.

h) Byway 2 (Part), Wilsford cum Lake; from its junction with Byway 11, Amesbury to its junction with Footpath 4 at Springbottom Farm, Wilsford cum Lake.

i) Footpath 4, Durrington; from its junction with the A345, to its junction with Fargo Road.

j) C3086 (Part), Shrewton and Winterbourne Stoke (northbound only); from Rollestone Crossroads to A360 Airman’s Cross Roundabout.

k) A360 (Part), Shrewton and Winterbourne Stoke (northbound only); from its junction with Longbarrow Roundabout to its junction with Airman’s Cross Roundabout.

l) Fargo Road (Part), Durrington; from its junction with the A345 to a point 300m north at Woodhenge. And to introduce a temporary No Waiting at any time restriction on the following lengths of road:

(m) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke; from its junction with A303 Longbarrow Roundabout to its junction with C506 (Airman’s Corner).

n) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke; from its junction with C506 (Airman’s Corner) in a westerly direction towards Shrewton for a distance of approximately 1 kilometre.

o) B3086 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke and Shrewton; from its junction with A360 / C506 (Airman’s Corner) in a northerly direction to its junction with The Packway and its junction with A360.

p) A3028 (Part), Durrington; from its junction with the A345 to a point 300m north at Woodhenge.

q) C42, Stonehenge Road, Durrington; from its junction with the Packway Roundabout to the A303.

r) A345 (Part), Durrington; from its roundabout junction with A3028 for a distance of approximately 500m in a southerly direction to enable the Council to close the byways and adjoining roads for public safety and to facilitate controlled access during the Winter Solstice event 2025. The closures, restriction and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs or cones. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.

The Orders will come into operation at 00:01 on Monday 15 December 2025 and are expected to remain in force until 12:00 on Monday 22 December 2025. The byways will be closed to the public during the statutory period of 48 hours either side of the solstice (i.e. 19 to 21 December 2025), or until it is deemed safe to reopen. SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all users:

A) Restricted Byway 17 (Part), Laverstock and Ford; from its junction with Pearce Way to its junction with Footpath 12, Laverstock and Ford.

B) Footpath 12, Laverstock and Ford; from its junction with Restricted Byway 12, Laverstock and Ford to its junction with Ford Lane to enable Green Lane Cycleway Improvement Scheme.

The scheme includes the addition of a new crossing on Pearce Way, the upgrade of the existing shared-use track, and the implementation of traffic calming measures along Roman Road. Machinery operating in this area is large and will occupy the majority of the track during the day. For the safety of the workforce and those who use the byway it will be closed. Some areas of the track will remain open where possible.

Alternative route A via Footpath 11, Laverstock and – Holmes Road – Pearce Way and vice versa.

No alternative route is available for B.

The closures and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.

This Order will come into operation on 24 November 2025 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 23 May 2026. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months.
