NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDERS

SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981

Kingston Bagpuize and Southmoor Footpaths Nos. 2 & 17 (parts) Modification Order 2025

On 3 November 2025, Oxfordshire County Council confirmed without modification the above order made under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding to them the public footpaths:–

from the existing western end of Footpath No. 2 at OS Grid Ref SU 4043 9807 running generally westwards for approximately 15 metres to Bellamy Close at SU 4042 9807;

and from the existing northern end of Footpath No. 17 at OS Grid Ref SU 4029 9797 running north-north-east for approximately 37 metres to Norwood Avenue at SU 4030 9801.

Kirtlington Footpath No. 2 (part) Modification Order 2025

On 12 November 2025, Oxfordshire County Council confirmed without modification the above order made under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. The effect of the order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding the route:–

From Church Lane at OS Grid Ref SP 5001 1963 running generally east for approximately 138 metres to the existing western end of Footpath No. 2 at SP 5015 1961.

The orders as confirmed became operative on the date of confirmation but if a person aggrieved by an order wants to question its validity, on the ground that it is not within the powers of section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the ground that any requirement of Schedule 15 to the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 12 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from 20 November 2025, make an application for that purpose to the High Court.

Little Milton Footpath No. 11 (part)

Modification Order 2025

The above Order made on the 12 November 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by:–

Adding to them the public footpath from the existing southern end of Little Milton Footpath No. 11 at OS grid reference SP 6198 0082, running generally south-south-west for 34 metres to Haseley Road at SP 6197 0079.

A copy of the Order, the Order map and an explanatory statement may be seen free of charge during opening hours at Wheatley Library, High Street, Wheatley, OX33 1XP.

Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to Countryside Access Legal, Oxfordshire County Council, County Hall, Oxford OX1 1ND, or countrysideaccesslegal@oxfordshire.gov.uk not later than 16 January 2026 and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Oxfordshire County Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the order. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with the Order. The notice period has been extended from 42 to 56 days to allow for the holiday period.
