Udale Street, Workington - Temporary Road Closure due to Christmas Lights Switch On Event

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Workington Christmas Lights Switch On Event (“the Event”) in Workington and to enable members of the public to watch the event, Cumberland Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the U2662 Udale Street, Workington from its junction with Pow Street to its junction with the A596 Bridge Street.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

N.B. Deliveries to business premises affected by the closure will be permitted but only at such times as deemed safe to do so by the event marshals who will escort those vehicles through the closed area.

The Order will come into operation on 28 November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 2 days from 1400 hours on 28 November 2025 until 2000 hours on 29 November 2025, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed
