What is happening?
North Yorkshire Council, Temporary Prohibition of Traffic, Ireby Road to Thorney Croft, Westhouse, Order 2025, No. 443
We have made this Order to prohibit any vehicle from using Ireby Road to Thorney Croft, Westhouse for a temporary period (subject to access to premises) between 24/11/25 & 12/12/25, due to Yorkshire Water works to renew the water mains. However, the max duration of this Order is until 24/02/26. The closure period will be indicated by traffic signs & a local alternative route will be signed on site where appropriate. Temporary 30 MPH Speed Restriction, Smithy Lane, Westhouse, Order 2025 No. 444
We have made this Order to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding in excess of 30 mph along Smithy Lane, Westhouse for a temporary period between 24/11/25 & 12/12/25, due to Yorkshire Water works to renew the water mains. However, the max duration of this Order is until 24/02/26. The restriction will be put into effect by notices & signs. Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Amendment No Tbc, Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act & under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which will be to amend “North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting and Loading and Provision of Parking) (District of Craven) Consolidation Order 2013”, by introducing the restrictions specified in the table below:-
Table - Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking at all Times with Exemptions
Settle, Townhead, East side from Southern point of the access from number 2 Townhead for 26m Southeast.
Settle, Townhead, West side from Western point of the access to Town Head Court for 26m in a Westerly direction.
A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Settle Community Library, Limestone View, Lower Greenfoot, Settle BD24 9RB during normal office hours from 20/11/25 to 11/12/25 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders
If you wish to object to the proposed Order, you should send the grounds for your objection, in writing, addressed to Area 5 Skipton Highways Office, Snaygill Industrial Estate, Keighley Road, Skipton, North Yorkshire BD23 2QR or by email Area5.Skipton@northyorks.gov.uk or via the website link above by 11/12/25.
Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Amendment No 57, Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that on 14/11/25 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act & under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which is to amend “North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Craven) Consolidation Order 2013” by introducing the restrictions specified in the table below:-
Waiting Prohibited At All Times With Exemptions
Settle, Sowarth Field Industrial Estate, West side of road from Junction with Sowarth Field Industrial Estate to 140m north to the junction with Kings Mill Lane.
Settle, Sowarth Field Industrial Estate, East side of road from Junction with Sowarth Field Industrial Estate to 112m north.
A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 24/11/25, together with a map showing the roads affected may be examined at County Hall, Northallerton & at Settle Library, Limestone View, Lower Greenfoot, Settle, BD24 9RB during normal office hours from 20/11/25 to 26/12/25 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders
If you wish to question the validity of the above Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any Instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks of 14/11/25 make application to the High Court for the purpose.
