Squire Lane - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
SQUIRE LANE, BRIDLINGTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along the entire length of Squire Lane, Bridlington
commencing 15 December 2025 at 08.00 hours until
19 December 2025 at 20.00 hours for the purposes
of installing a new water connection works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed
within five days. The alternative route for traffic
affected by the road closure will be via:
South Back Lane, Leys Road, Westgate and High Street,
Bridlington CP, Bridlington Central and Old Town Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians (road narrow for most
vehicles). Further information can be obtained by
