Cumbria - Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL
(U2113 BEWALDETH, U2192 EAGLESFIELD, C2027 HOTCHBERRY BROW
AND C2002 IREBY)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. U2113 Bewaldeth, from its junction with the U2934, extending in an overall south easterly direction for approx. 260m.
Alternate Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2113, U2114, C2011, C2004, A591, and the U2934.
Duration: From 9 December 2025 for approx. 3 days between 700 and 1900 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/16378)

2. U2192 Eaglesfield, from its junction with Dalton Lane, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 160m, to its junction with the C2027, Hotchberry Brow.
Alternate Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2192 and the C2027 Hotchberry Brow.
Duration: From 10 December 2025 for approx. 3 days between 700 and 1900 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/16376)

3. C2027 Hotchberry Brow from its junction with the U2192, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 600m.
Alternate Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2027, C2039, C2007 Brigham, C2065, C2036 and C2027 Greysouthen, C2031, and C2032.
Duration: From 10 December 2025 for approx. 3 days between 700 and 1900 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/16377)

4. C2020 Ireby, from its junction with the C2021, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 800m, to its junction with the B5299.
Alternate Route: via the B5299, Boltongate, C2011, and the C2021.
Duration: From 16 December 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/16430)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 9 December 2025 and will continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months.

However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as and when the works take place and only when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
