THE OLDHAM & SPRINGHEAD PROHIBITION OF WAITING ORDER 2025

The Oldham Borough Council on 21 st November 2025 made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which is to; Oldham Road Springhead - to change the 8am to 9.30am and 4pm to 6pm Monday to Friday current waiting restrictions on the south side of Oldham Road springhead from 45 metres east of Wroe Street to Ashbrook Road to prohibit waiting at all times. to prohibit waiting at all times on:-
Sholver Lane -north east and north west side – from 94 metres south east of a point opposite the southern kerb line of Cop Road for 82 metres south easterly and then north easterly & south west and south east side from a point 102 metres south east of Cop Road to 17 metres
north east of Wilkes Street and on Wilkes Street - west side
from Sholver Lane for 20 metres southerly and east side
from Sholver Lane for 26 metres southerly Southlink
South side from Glodwick Road for 120 metres generally westerly, North side from 135 metres west of Glodwick Road for 35 metres generally westerly
North side from Glodwick Road for 15 metres generally westerly
to remove the waiting restrictions on both sides of Radnor Street from Lincoln Street for 5 metres north easterly and to introduce ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions on Radnor Street -South east side from Lincoln Street for 10 metres north easterly and the North west side from Gloucester Street North for 10 metres south westerly and on South east side from Gloucester Street North for 22 metres south westerly and also on Gloucester Street North - North east side from Hereford Street for 10 metres south easterly and North east side 50 metres south east of Hereford Street to Radnor Street and South west side 33 metres south east of Hereford Street to Radnor Street

The Order will come into operation on 28th November 2025. If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may within 6 weeks from the date hereof apply to the High Court for the purpose.
