What is happening?

KIRKLEES COUNCIL (TRAFFIC REGULATION) (CONSOLIDATION ORDER PROVIDING ON-STREET PARKING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS AND MIGRATION TO A ‘MAP-BASED’ FORMAT) ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT NO. 12) ORDER 2025
CHURCH LANE & ACORN RISE, LINTHWAITE

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees have made the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects a lengths of road in the Linthwaite area of the Kirklees district, will be to amend the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading And Stopping Restrictions and Migration to a ‘Map-Based’ Format) Order 2024 so as to:

• Prohibit the waiting at any time on a lengths of Church Lane and Acorn Rise, Linthwaite

REASON: Planning permission has been granted for the erection of a residential development for 125 dwellings on land north of Church Lane, Linthwaite, Huddersfield, HD7 5TA (Planning Ref (2021/62/91571/W). To enable access to these new properties it has been necessary to construct a new entrance (Acorn Rise) at the junction with Church Lane in Linthwaite.

This Traffic Regulation Amendment Order is proposed to remove any on street parking in the vicinity of the new entrance to help improve access, visibility, and safety for all users.

It is believed these proposals will improve the amenities in the area through which these roads run.

This Order was made on 11 November 2025 and will take effect on 21 November 2025.

Any person wishing to challenge the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirements of that, or of any instrument made under it, have not been complied with may apply to the High Court within six weeks following 21 November 2025.
