What is happening?

PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD HUMP
Notice is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead in exercise of its powers under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 and after consultation and in accordance with Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 proposes to construct a road hump complying with The Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 as a traffic calming measure in order to regulate vehicle speed in the vicinity.
The proposal consists of introducing one raised table with a height of 75 millimetres, being a full carriageway width and variable length at the location specified in Schedule 1 below. There are no additional works or traffic calming features to be undertaken.
Signs will be erected and road markings provided in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 at all appropriate locations.
All details of the proposals are shown on plans, which may be viewed at the information desk on the ground floor of Gateshead Council’s Civic Centre, Regent Street, Gateshead, NE8 1HH, Monday to Thursday between 8.45am and 5.00pm and Friday between 8.45am and 4.30pm or online at: www.gateshead.gov.uk/ trafficschemes. If you wish to object to the proposal, you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to the above address to be received by the undersigned on or before 16 December 2025.
