Elder Drive And Juniper Drive - Speed Limit Order
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (ELDER DRIVE AND JUNIPER DRIVE) SPEED LIMIT ORDER 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 13th November 2025 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The effect of the Order which will come into operation on 8th December 2025 is to introduce a 20 miles per hour speed limit on the following lengths of road -
(a) Elder Drive, for its entire length, and
(b) Juniper Drive, for its entire length.
3. If you wish to view the documents relating to the Order (including the draft Order, Map and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order), please email a request to streetworks@newcastle.gov.uk Alternatively, please telephone (0191) 2787878 to request a copy of the documents. The documents may also be viewed free of charge at The Arches reception, Newcastle Civic Centre, Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8QH between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
4. If you wish to question the validity of the above Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any relevant requirements have not been complied with in relation to the Order you may, within six weeks from 13th November 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
