What is happening?

PROPOSED BUS GATE COSHAM INTERCHANGE


1. Notice is hereby given that the Portsmouth City Council proposes to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984: The Portsmouth City Council (Portsmouth Road) (Bus Gates) Order 2025. The effect of the Order would be:
i) Change the "No Entry Except buses" restriction on Portsmouth Road Bus Lanes North of Cosham Park (also known as Cosham Interchange) to a Bus Gate for use only by buses, cycles, taxis and private hire vehicles.
2. Copies of the draft Order, Statement of Reasons and Map are available to view on Portsmouth City Council’s website: Search 'Traffic Regulation Orders 2025" at

www.portsmouth.gov.uk.

Alternatively, they can be viewed at the Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, PO1 2AL, Monday to Friday between 9am - 4pm. Printed copies can be obtained by calling 023 9260 6480.
3. Persons wishing to object to or make other representations with regard to these proposals must do so in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made. Representations must be sent to

or by post to TRO team, Portsmouth City Council, Civic Offices, Portsmouth PO1 2NE, quoting ref P037-25 within 21 days of the date of this Notice (i.e. by 12 December 2025).
