What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B156 CUFFLEY HILL, GOFFS OAK) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B156 Cuffley Hill, Goffs Oak from a point 100m south west of its junction with Robinson Avenue south westwards for a distance of approximately 70m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via B156 Goffs Lane, B198 Lieutenant Ellis Way, A10 Great Cambridge Road, A110 (Southbury Road/Genotin Road/Cecil Road/Church Street/Windmill Hill), A1005 The Ridgeway, A111 Southgate Road, A1000 High Street and B156 (The Causeway/Coopers Lane/Judges Hill/Northaw Road West/Northaw Road East/Cuffley Hill) or via B156 (Goffs Lane/Northaw Road East/Northaw Road West/Judges Hill/Coopers Lane/The Causeway), A1000 High Street, A111 Southgate Road, A1005 The Ridgeway, A110 (Windmill Hill/Church Street/The Town/Southbury Road), A10 Great Cambridge Road, B198 Lieutenant Ellis Way and B156 Goffs Lane.
The Order is needed because utility connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 8 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BALFOUR STREET, HERTFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Balfour Street, Hertford from its junction with Archers Close south westwards for a distance of approximately 50m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Balfour Street, Byde Street, Wellington Street, Nelson Street, Port Vale and Balfour Street.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B1037 WHITE HILL, WALKERN/LUFFENHALL) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1037 White Hill, Walkern/Luffenhall from a point 60m north east of its junction with Weston Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 225m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B1037 (White Hill/High Street/Stevenage Road/Fairlands Way), A1155 Verity Way, A1072 Martins Way, A602 Hitchin Road, B197 (Graveley Road/High Street/Jacks Hill), A505 Baldock Bypass, B197 (London Road/High Street), B656 Whitehorse Street, A507 (Clothall Road/unnamed road/Baldock Road) and B1037 (unnamed road/White Hill).
The Order is needed because the replacement of existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 27 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BROMLEY LANE, MUCH HADHAM/STANDON) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bromley Lane, Much Hadham/ Standon from a point 170m north west of its junction with C15 (unnamed road) north westwards, south westwards, north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 2620m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Bromley Lane, C15 (unnamed road), The Ford, The Ash, Standon Road, A120 (Standon Road/Stortford Road) and High Street.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 26 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHURCH GREEN, BENINGTON) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Church Green, Benington from a point 104m south west of its junction with Town Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 120m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Church Green, Walkern Road and Church Green.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 26 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ROSEDALE WAY AND THE FOOTWAY SITUATED ON THE WEST SIDE OF ROSEDALE WAY, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Rosedale Way, Cheshunt from a point 35m south east of its junction with Peakes Way roundabout south eastwards for a distance of approximately 110m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Rosedale Way, Longfield Lane, Flamstead End Road, B156 Flamstead End Road/Churchgate Road/Goffs Lane) and Rosedale Way.
2. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the footway situated on the west side of Rosedale Way, Cheshunt from a point 114m north west of a point in line with the northern boundary of No.20 Frensham south eastwards for a distance of approximately 70m (“the Footway”).
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Rosedale Way, the subway situated beneath Rosedale Way and the footway situated on the east side of Frensham.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Footway.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Footway.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN SOUTH STREET, STANSTEAD ABBOTTS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of South Street, Stanstead Abbotts from its junction with B181 High Street south eastwards for a distance of approximately 150m (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A507 BALDOCK ROAD, COTTERED) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A507 Baldock Road, Cottered from its junction with the A10 Buntingford Bypass/B1038 Baldock Road roundabout north westwards and westwards to its junction with Throcking Lane, a distance of approximately 1427m (“the Road”), except for access. An alternative route will be via A10 (Buntingford Bypass/unnamed road/ Ermine Street/London Road/Market Hill/Priory Lane/Melbourn Road), A505 (Royston Bypass/Baldock Road/Royston Road/Baldock Bypass), B656 (Royston Bypass Interchange with Wallington Road/Royston Road) and A507 (Clothall Road/unnamed road/Baldock Road) or via A507 (Baldock Road/unnamed road/ Clothall Road), B656 Royston Road, A505 (Baldock Bypass/Royston Road/ Baldock Road/Royston Bypass) and A10 (Melbourn Road/Priory Lane/Barkway Street/London Road/Ermine Street/unnamed road/Buntingford Bypass).
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GOBIONS LANE, STAPLEFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Gobions Lane, Stapleford from its junction with A119 High Road north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 967m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A119 High Road, Bramfield Lane, Main Road, Winding Shott and Gobions Lane.
The Order is needed because bridge maintainence works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 26 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (PORT VALE AND RUSSELL STREET, HERTFORD) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2025
THE HERTFORDSHIRE (PORT VALE) (PROHIBITION OF STOPPING ON ENTRANCE MARKINGS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions and a no stopping ‘at any time’ on school keep clear markings prohibition in parts of Hertford as specified in the Schedules to this Notice.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 20 November 2025 during office hours, at Main Reception, County Hall, Hertford, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting East Herts and looking at Ref: EH01125.
