What is happening?

The reason for the said closure is for roundabout remedial and surfacing works.

The said roads are expected to be closed each night between the hours of 19:00 and 07:00 from 8th December 2025 to 20th December 2025, if the works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

Alternative Route – as signed on site. Pedestrian access to premises on or next to the road will be maintained. Emergency access cannot be maintained due to the nature of the works.

TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION A38 (WHITMINSTER AND HARDWICKE PARISHES) STROUD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily restrict part of the road as described in the schedule below.

Schedule: 30 mph Speed Limit 24 hours a day, for the full duration of the works

Road Number and Name - Closure Extent (from) - Closure Extent (to) -  Approximate Distance

A38 Bristol Road - Junction with Fromebridge Lane, Whitminster - A38 Crosskeys Roundabout - 6000

The reason for the said restriction is for safety during electrical cable installation works.

The said roads are expected to be restricted from 19th November 2025 to 20th February 2026 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the restrictions are in force.

Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the restrictions taking effect.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE 401204 BACK EDGE LANE (PAINSWICK PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 401204 Back Edge Lane from its junction with the lane to Back Edge Farm, to its junction with Edge Lane for a distance of approximately 590 metres.

The reason for the said closure is for works on behalf of Severn Trent Water.

The said road is expected to be closed from 10th December 2025 to 12th December 2025 or until the works have been completed. However, if the works are not completed by this date the Order can remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.
