Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

30mph Speed Limit
Date of Order: 24 November 2025
Coming into force: 1 December 2025
This Order is being introduced for road safety because of interchange improvements to add new south-facing slip roads to the A34 and provision of a private road. The works are anticipated to be completed 8 March 2026 and will operate between 20:00 and 06:00 hours. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in excess of 30mph from Sugworth Lane to the junction with Lodge Hill Garage. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. The relevant part of the Oxfordshire County Council (Kennington and South Hinksey) (Speed Limits) Order 2023 is suspended for the duration of the works in respect of the 50mph speed limit. Exemptions are included for police, fire and ambulance services. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
