(PUBLIC FOOTPATHS SB16 (PART) & SB29 (PART) – TOWCESTER)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above Order made by West Northamptonshire Council on 15th May 2025 and which came into effect on 27th May 2025 has been extended until the works to which it relates have been completed or until midnight on 27th May 2026 whichever is sooner by the Secretary of State for Transport. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said footpaths is unaffected.
REASON FOR RESTRICTION: The extension is required for health and safety reasons as construction activities are ongoing.

(Lengths of footpaths to be closed)
The length of Public Footpath SB16 to be closed commences at Point A on the map at National Grid Reference (‘NGR’) SP6955 4685 and proceeds generally south for 412 metres to terminate at point B at NGR SP6955 4646. The length of Public Footpath SB29 to be closed commences at point C on the map at NGR SP6937 4673 and proceeds generally south for 218 metres to terminate at point D at NGR SP6939 4651. The routes to be closed are shown on the map by solid black lines between points A-B and C-D. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The alternative route commences at point A on the map at NGR SP6955 4685 and proceeds generally south-west for 255 metres to point C at the junction with footpath SB29 at NGR SP6937 4673. The route then continues south-west for 50 metres to point E at NGR SP6934 4669. The route then follows the footway of Wood Burcote for 134 metres to point F at NGR SP6928 4662. The route then crosses the new relief road and proceeds south-east, following the alignment of the relief road for 180 metres to point D at NGR SP6939 4651 at the junction with footpath SB29. The route continues south-east for 166 metres to terminate at the junction with footpath SB16 at point B at NGR SP6928 4662. The alternative route is shown on the map by a broken black line between points A-C-E-F-D-B.
