What is happening?

EAST HERTFORDSHIRE DISTRICT COUNCIL
(BISHOP’S STORTFORD) (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2014 (AMENDMENT) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the East Hertfordshire District Council with the consent of Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The general effect of the Order will be to introduce hotel permits in Bishop’s Stortford car parks as specified in the Schedule to this Notice. The Order will come into effect on 24 November 2025.

Documents giving detailed particulars of the Order are held on deposit and may be viewed from 20 November 2025 to 8 January 2026, during normal office hours, at the offices of East Hertfordshire District Council, Wallfields, Pegs Lane, Hertford SG13 8EQ or viewed online at www.eastherts.gov.uk/traffic-orders

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order, or of any provisions contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks from the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for this purpose.

SCHEDULE

This Order amends the ‘East Hertfordshire District Council (Bishop’s Stortford) (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2014’, as follows;

(a) It amends the Articles and Schedules in relation to the introduction of Hotel Permits for use in Crown Terrace ‘A’, Crown Terrace ‘B’ and Jackson Square car parks as set out in the draft Order.
