What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(A444 OVERSEAL TO ACRESFORD, SWADLINCOTE) (SPEED LIMIT REDUCTION) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Derbyshire County Council proposes to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be, in respects of roads in the Parishes of Overseal and Netherseal in the District of South Derbyshire, is as follows:

30MPH SPEED LIMIT (RESTRICTED ROAD):
A444 Acresford Road, Overseal
From the prolongation of the south-easterly land boundary of no. 21, Acresford Road in a south-easterly direction to a point 10.5 metres south-east of its junction with Lambersitch Drive. A distance of 76 metres.

A444 Burton Road, Overseal
From the prolongation of the north-western land boundary of no. 110, Burton Road in a south-easterly direction for a distance of 101.5 metres.

50MPH SPEED LIMIT:
A444 Acresford Road, Acresford
From a point 330 metres north of its junction with Gorsey Lane in a northerly direction for a distance of 605 metres. Exemptions will be made for vehicles being used for Police, Fire Brigade or Ambulance purposes or any Vehicle falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemption (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.

A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock, at Swadlincote Library, Civic Way, Swadlincote, DE11 0AD, during opening hours and on request by emailing place.permanentTRO@derbyshire. gov.uk until 6 weeks after the Order is made.

All objections and other representations to the proposal must (a) be made in writing (b) state the grounds on which they are made (c) provide a name and address for contact purposes (d) be sent to the Highways Director - Place, Derbyshire County Council, County Hall, Matlock DE4 3AG (For Attention of Traffic and Safety Team quoting reference Z3446) or email place.permanentTRO@derbyshire.gov. uk by Friday 12th December 2025.
