What is happening?
WAKEFIELD COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(WHITWOOD LANE, CASTLEFORD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 355) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for detailed bridge inspection and maintenance works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Whitwood Lane, Castleford from the junction of California Drive to the junction of private road leading to poultry and manor houses. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of California Drive.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: California Drive, Express Way, Altofts Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 24th November 2025 between 22.00 hours to 06.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(SKINNER LANE, PONTEFRACT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 356) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds to remove all vegetation and spray to prevent regrowth to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Skinner Lane, Pontefract. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Skinner Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Skinner Lane, Lady Balk Lane, Monkhill Lane, North Baileygate, Northgate, Cockpit Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 21st November 2025 to 22nd November 2025 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(RHODES CRESCENT, PONTEFRACT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 358) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for footway patching to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Rhodes Crescent, Pontefract full length. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Rhodes Crescent.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 24th November 2025 to 16th January 2026, closed 07.30 hours to 15.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(GREEN LANE, CUTSYKE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 350) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for investigation works, pre installation of gully connected to soakaway to be carried out as follows:ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Green Lane, Cutsyke from outside The Cedars to the entrance to The Sawmill. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Green Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Green Lane, Flass Lane, Leeds Road, Aketon Road, Westwood Road, Green Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 24th November 2025 at 07.30 to 28th November 2025, at 15.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
The closure was originally due to be in force from 17th November 2025 at 07.30 hours to 21st November 2025 at 15.30 hours, however it has become necessary to change the dates as above.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
