(Church Street & Lord Street Area) (Liverpool Central Christmas Activities) (Temporary Suspension of the Current Hours of Operation for the Prohibition of Entry & Exit of Vehicles & Prohibition of Loading & Unloading) (Temporary Prohibition of Entry & Exit of Vehicles & Prohibition of Loading & Unloading) Order, 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Council intends to make the above-mentioned Order under Section 14 of The Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984: -
1. To suspend The City Council of Liverpool (City Centre Core Area) (Revocation, Prohibition of Driving and Prohibition of Entry and Exit, and One-Way Traffic) Order, 2008, insofar as it relates to the current hours of operation for the prohibition of entry and exit of vehicles and prohibition of loading and unloading in: - Basnett Street; Brythen Street; Church Alley; Church Street; Dorans Lane; Elliot Street (between Great Charlotte Street and Parker Street); Houghton Lane; Houghton Street; Leigh Place; Leigh Street; Lord Street (between North John Street and Whitechapel); Paradise Street (between Lord Street and School Lane); Parker Street; Richmond Street; School Lane (Paradise Street to Old Post Office Place); Tarleton Street; Tyrer Street; Whitechapel (between Lord Street and Sir Thomas Street); Williamson Square; & Williamson Street.
2. To prohibit any motor vehicle from entering or exiting, other than an emergency service vehicle, or from loading & unloading between 10am-8pm (with the exception of licensed street traders between the hours of 5pm-5.15pm) in: - Basnett Street; Brythen Street; Church Alley; Church Street; Elliot Street (between Great Charlotte Street and Parker Street); Houghton Lane; Houghton Street; Leigh Place; Leigh Street; Lord Street (between North John Street and Whitechapel); Paradise Street (between Lord Street and School Lane); Parker Street; Richmond Street; School Lane (Paradise Street to Old Post Office Place); Tarleton Street; Tyrer Street; Whitechapel (between Lord Street and Sir Thomas Street); Williamson Square; & Williamson Street.
3. This Order will be operative from the 5 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 and is required to safely enable the Liverpool Central Christmas activities to take place within the core city centre pedestrian zone.
