Godmans Lane - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic
What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC GODMANS LANE, KIRK ELLA (PART)
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Godmans Lane, Kirk Ella (between Hightrees and Sarum House) commencing Monday 8 December 2025 to excavate and repair a collapsed sewer in the Highway. The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 12 December 2025. The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via Godmans Lane, West Ella Road, School Lane and Packman Lane, Kirk Ella.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. Access will be maintained for pedestrians, residents and emergency services only. Further information can be obtained by contacting the council and asking for Highways Customer Care, telephone (01482) 393939. Ref: JS.
