What is happening?

County of Lincoln, Parts of Lindsey (Isle of Axholme) Definitive Map and Statement Definitive Map Modification (Public Footpath 4A and Restricted Byway 4B, Luddington and Haldenby) Order 2025(1)

The above order made on 22 October 2025, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them a 213-metre-long footpath between the east end of Church Lane eastwards to its junction with Public Footpath 4 via St Oswald’s churchyard (SE88341720 to SE83551724); upgrading to restricted byway a 55-metre length of Public Footpath 4 between the churchyard path’s eastern terminus northwards to its junction with Public Footpath 3, Garthorpe (SE83551724 to SE83531729); and adding a 462 metre-long restricted byway between the western terminus of Public Footpath 3, Garthorpe, northwards to Garthorpe Road (SE83531729 to SE83361772).

A copy of the order and order map may be seen and obtained free of charge at Church Square House, 30-40 High Street, Scunthorpe, DN15 6NL from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday other than bank holidays. They may also be viewed online at www.northlincs.gov.uk (please search on ‘public rights of way current public notices’).

Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the Principal Access and Commons Officer at Highways Asset Team, North Lincolnshire Council, 8-9 Billet Lane, Scunthorpe, DN15 9YH or via prow@northlincs.gov.uk not later than 2 January 2026, and applicants are required to state the grounds on which it is made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the order, or if any so made are withdrawn, North Lincolnshire Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State may themselves confirm the order. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with it.
