TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
A6 MATLOCK ROAD, AMBERGATE

WHEN: 07 December (22:00) to 08 December 2025 (05:00).
WHERE: A6 Matlock Road, Ambergate from its Jct. with Chase Road for an approx. distance of 823m north.
REASON: To facilitate urgent removal of declining vegetation and trees.
LIGHT VEHICLE ALTERNATE ROUTE: A6: Matlock Rd, A517: Bridge Foot/ Bridge Hill/ Ashbourne Rd, B5023: Wirksworth Rd/ Derby Rd/ Warmbrook/ St James St/ Harrison Dr, B5023: Cromford Rd/ Steeple Grange/ Cromford Hill/ The Hill/ Market Pl, A6: Derby Rd/ Matlock Rd and vice versa.
HGV ALTERNATE ROUTE: A6: Matlock Rd/ Derby Rd, B5023: Market Pl, A5012: Water Lane/ Via Gellia, A515: Buston Rd/ Ashbourne Rd/ Clifton Rd, A52: Ashbourne Rd/ Painters Lane, A38 Queensway, Palm Court Island. A6: Duffield Rd/ Derby Rd/ Bridge St/ Matlock Rd.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
