What is happening?

North Yorkshire Council, Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Amendment No Tbc, Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”) & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act & under the Traffic Management Act 2004 (“the 2004 Act”) & of all other enabling powers, & after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part Ill of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which will be to amend “North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Scarborough) Order 2007” by introducing the restrictions specified in the table below:- Table - Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking Staithes, Captain Cook’s Close, North side from a point 24 metres west of the north south arm of Captain Cook’s Close to a point 31 metres west of the north south arm of Captain Cook’s Close - Disabled parking bay. A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Saltburn Library, Windsor Road, Saltburn-By-The-Sea, TS12 1AT during normal office hours from 20/11/25 to 12/12/25 & also viewed online at

If you wish to object to the proposed Order, you should send the grounds for your objection, in writing, addressed to Area 3 Highways Depot, Discovery Way, Whitby, North Yorkshire YO22 4PZ or by email to
