What is happening?

Temporary Traffic Management Order Various Roads, Compton Abbas & Fontmell Magna

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 24th November 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 19th December 2025.

Please be advised that the following temporary road closures will be in effect to facilitate essential highway maintenance and improvement works:

[i] Boundary Road, Compton Abbas from the junction with the B3081 to a point approximately 3330 metres west, Boundary Road will be closed weekdays only from Monday 24th November to Friday 12th December, between 7:30am and 4:30pm, to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing. Outside of these hours, a priority traffic control system will be in operation. Access to the airfi eld will be maintained from one end of Boundary Road at all times, depending on the location of the works. Emergency service access will be preserved to ensure safe airfield operations.

[ii] C13, Fontmell Magna between both junctions at Gore Clump will be closed overnight from 8:00pm to 6:00am on Monday 15th December and Tuesday 16th December, to undertake highway improvement works. During the daytime from Monday 15th December to Wednesday 17th December, Stop/Go traffic management will be in place, as indicated by signage on site.
