West Lancashire - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic
What is happening?

(B5197 PRESCOT ROAD, AUGHTON, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of B5197 Prescot Road, Aughton to a point of 48 metres north of its junction with Norris House Drive for a distance of 15 metres in a northerly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 1900 to 2200 hours on Wednesday 26th November 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- B5197 St Annes Road, B5197 Aughton Street, A570 Park Road, A570 St Helens Road, A570 Ormskirk Road, A506 Liverpool Road, A506 Cunscough Lane, B5197 Prescot Road and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow manhole frame and cover replacement works in carriageway to be carried out.
