What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL
(U1152 UNTHANK AND U1198 FENTON LANE, NEAR HOW)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. U1152 Unthank, from its junction with the U1154, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 170m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1152, C1014, C1036 Durdar and U1154.
Duration: From 1 December 2025 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROC/16078)
2. U1198 near Fenton Lane, near How, from its junction with the C1035, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 130m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1198, C1024, How Street and C1035 How.
Duration: From 8 December 2025 for approx. 3 days (Ref: TTROC/16312)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 1 December 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
