What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (ORMSGILL LANE, BARROW IN FURNESS) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because of the likelihood of danger to the public, due to the dangerous condition of the carriageway, and to carry out repair works, Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of Ormsgill Lane, Barrow in Furness from its junction with Netherby Drive extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 90m.

This follows emergency notices dated 8 October 2025 and 29 October 2025.

The Order will come into operation on 19 November 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
