TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984

Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:

I) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

ACLE – Reedham Road from 100m south of its junction with Norwich Road for 50m southwards to facilitate bridge inspection and maintenance works between 22:00 and 06:00 from 24th to 28th November 2025 (may continue until 9th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Reedham Road, Leffins Lane, Norwich Road. The works promoter is Network Rail Infrastructure.

ASHMANHAUGH – U19068 Rectory Road from its junction with C397 Stone Lane for 460m westwards to facilitate duct installation and cabling works from 27th November to 8th December 2025 (may continue until 19th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Rectory Road, Tunstead Road, Stone Lane (Hoveton, Ashmanhaugh, Tunstead). The works promoter is CityFibre Metro Networks Ltd.

AYLSHAM – A140 Aylsham Bypass from its junction with Tuttington Road for 300m southwards to facilitate surfacing work and bridge joint works between 20:00 and 05:00 from 24th to 29th November 2025 (may continue until 10th January 2026). AYLSHAM – U57234 Drabblegate from 320m north of its junction with Banningham Road for 350m northwards to facilitate site entrance removal from 28th November to 15th December 2025 (may continue until 26th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Drabblegate, Lodge Lane, Banningham Road, A140 Cromer Road/Aylsham Bypass, Banningham Road, Drabblegate (Erpingham, Ingworth, Aylsham, Colby). BECKHAM EAST AND WEST – C528 Church Road from its junction with C309 Long Lane for 20m eastwards to facilitate duct repair works from 26th to 28th November 2025 (may continue until 9th January 2026). Alternative route is via: C528 Church Road/Beckham Palace Road, C308 Osier Lane, C309 Long Lane. The works promoter is BT.

CROMER – Surrey Street from its junction with Brook Street for 25m eastwards to allow access to chambers in the carriageway from 24th to 26th November 2025 (may continue until 7th January 2026). Alternative route is via: Surrey Street, The Gangway, A149 Church Street/Mount Street/Louden Road/Prince of Wales Road/Hamilton Road/Church Street, Brook Street. The works promoter is Hawthornedown Developments Ltd.

FAKENHAM – C550 Whitehorse Street from its junction with C550 Olivet Way to its junction with C551 Norwich Street to facilitate chamber cover and carriageway patching works between 19:00 on 24th November and 06:00 on 25th November 2025 (may continue until 6th January 2026). Alternative route is via: C550 Olivet Way/Hempton Road/Dereham Road, B1146 Hempton Green Road, A1065 Raynham Road, C590 Creake Road/Wells Road/Highfield Road, C550 Queens Road (Fakenham, Sculthorpe, Hempton). FILBY – A1064 Main Road/The Heath from 60m northwest of its junction with C448 Market Lane for 120m south-eastwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works between 19:00 and 05:00 from 24th to 26th November 2025 (may continue until 7th January 2026). Alternative route is via: A1064 Main Road – A1064 The Heath/Main Road/Norwich Road, A149 Norwich Road/Main Road/High Road, B1152 Mill Lane/Heath Road/Main Road, A1064 Main Road. C448 Market Lane – Market Lane, Hall Road, Decoy Road, Low Road, School Road, Mautby Lane (Ashby with Oby, Repps with Bastwick, Rollesby, Fleggburgh, Ormesby St. Michael, Filby, Ormesby St. Margaret with Scratby, West Caister). FLEGGBURGH – A1064 Main Road from 50m southeast of its junction with C457 Tower Road for 500m south-eastwards to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works between 19:00 and 05:00 from 26th to 30th November 2025 (may continue until 11th January 2026). Alternative route is via: A1064 Main Road/Norwich Road, A149 Norwich Road/Main Road/High Road, B1152 Mill Lane/Heath Road/Main Road, A1064 Main Road (Ashby with Oby, Repps with Bastwick, Rollesby, Fleggburgh, Ormesby St. Michael, Filby, Ormesby St. Margaret with Scratby, West Caister). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB: Please note that the Road will be closed for four nights within the anticipated dates.

GREAT AND LITTLE PLUMSTEAD – C258 Hare Road from its junction with Broad Lane to its junction with Church Road to facilitate new drainage system and outfall installation works from 24th November 2025 to 20th February 2026 (may continue until 20th August 2026). Alternative route is via: Broad Lane, Reeves Corner, Plumstead Road, Green Lane North, Middle Road (Thorpe St. Andrew, Great and Little Plumstead). The works promoter is Norfolk County Council.

NB: These works are to be carried out in two phases. Phase 1 will be carried out from 24th to 28th November. Phase 2 will be carried out from 12th January to 20th February.

GREAT YARMOUTH – Windsor Avenue from its junction with Hamilton Road for 150m northwards to facilitate lead pipe repair works from 27th November to 12th December 2025 (may continue until 23rd January 2026). Alternative route is via: Hamilton Road, Sandringham Avenue, Barnard Avenue. The works promoter is Essex and Suffolk Water.

HORNING

  1. U19118 Mill Hill from 200m southeast of its junction with C401 Lower Street for 90m south-eastwards and

  2. U19869 Mill Hill from its junction with U19118 Mill Hill for 105m north-westwards to facilitate new duct installation for cabling works from 24th to 28th November 2025 (may continue until 9th January 2026).

    Alternative route is via:

  3. Mill Loke, Lower Street, A1062 Ropes Hill/Norwich Road, Mill Hill;

MORTON-ON-THE-HILL – C167 Marl Hill from its junction with A1067 Fakenham Road to its junction with Morton Lane to facilitate bellmouth entrance removal works from 24th to 30th November 2025 (may continue until 11th January 2026).

Alternative route is via: Marl Hill Road, Church Street, Woodforde Close, Honingham Road, Paddys Lane, B1535 Frans Green/Sandy Lane/Weston Green Road/Heath Road/Weston Hall Road, A1067 Norwich Road/Fakenham Road (Morton-on-the-Hill, Great Witchingham, Weston Longville).

NORTH WALSHAM – U14480 Lyngate Road from 200m west of its junction with U19018 Bradfield Road for 200m westwards to facilitate crossover bellmouth removal and verge reinstatement works from 24th November to 5th December 2025 (may continue until 16th January 2026).

Alternative route is via: Lyngate Road, Bradfield Road, Pond Road, Chapel Road (Swaffield, Antingham, North Walsham).

ROUGHTON – C467 Roughton Road from 145m south of its junction with Compit Hills for 40m southwards to facilitate fire hydrant repair works from 24th to 26th November 2025 (may continue until 7th January 2026).

Alternative route is via: C467 Roughton Road/Cromer Road, C291 Old Mill Road, B1436 Felbrigg Road/Chapel Road, A140 Norwich Road, A149 Crossdale Street/Norwich Road (Cromer, Northrepps, Felbrigg, Roughton).

THURSFORD – C318 Heath Plantation Lane from 240m southwest of its junction with A148 Holt Road for 50m south-westwards to facilitate chamber, cover and frame replacement works from 24th to 26th November 2025 (may continue until 7th January 2026).

    THETFORD

    1. U30420/18 St Giles Lane from 25m west of its junction with Earls Street for 25m westwards and

    • Road 1 will be temporarily closed.

    • Road 2 shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (eastbound) to allow vehicles to travel in both an easterly and westerly direction.

    • Road 3 shall be temporarily subject to the suspension of the one-way system (westbound) to allow vehicles to travel in both an easterly and westerly direction.

    Works will take place from 24th to 26th November 2025 (may continue until 7th January 2026).

    II) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:

    CAISTER-ON-SEA

    1. C483 Norwich Road (eastbound lane) from its junction with A149 Caister Bypass for 90m eastwards

      and

    2. A149 Caister Bypass Roundabout at its junction with C483 Norwich Road

    To facilitate civil construction works:

    • Road 1 will be temporarily closed

    • Traffic over Road 2 shall be prohibited to turn left onto C483 Norwich Road

    From 17th to 28th November 2025 (may continue until 9th January 2026).

    Alternative route is via: A149 Caister Bypass, Yarmouth Road, High Street, Norwich Road (West Caister, Caister-on-Sea).

    HOLT – C300 Station Road from its junction with C300 Market Place to its junction with Kerridge Way to facilitate blockage clearing works between 20:00 on 20th November and 07:00 on 21st November 2025 (may continue until 2nd January 2026).

    Alternative route is via: C300 Market Place, C488 High Street, A148 Norwich Road, A148 Holt Bypass, C300 Station Road.

    The works promoter is Virgin Media.

    HORNING – U19118 Mill Loke from its junction with C401 Lower Street for 60m eastwards to facilitate new duct installation works for BDUK from 17th to 21st November 2025 (may continue until 2nd January 2026).

    Alternative route is via: Lower Street, A1062 Ropes Hill/Norwich Road, Mill Hill, Mill Loke.

    NORTH WALSHAM – C557 Market Street from its junction with C560 Mundesley Road for 70m south-eastwards to facilitate new electricity supply installation works, traffic (constituting any class of vehicle) over the road shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload between 08:00 and 18:00 from 16th to 23rd November 2025 (may continue until 4th January 2026).

    Alternative route is via: N/A.

    • Please note that these restrictions will only be in place on Sundays within the anticipated dates period.

    OLD CATTON – C251 St Faiths Road from its junction with Garrick Green for 40m southwards to facilitate overhead structure works on 17th November 2025 (may continue until 29th December 2025).

    Alternative route is via: St Faiths Road, Lodge Lane, Spixworth Road, Church Street.

    OVERSTRAND – Northrepps Road from 100m southwest of its junction with Cromer Road for 150m south-westwards to facilitate upgrade works to gas mains.

    The Order continues the provisions of the Notice dated 31st October 2025 that the Road will be temporarily closed from 8th to 14th November 2025 (previously 3rd to 7th November 2025) (may continue until 26th December 2025).

    Alternative route is via: Northrepps Road, Cromer Road, Overstrand Road (Overstrand, Cromer, Northrepps).

    PASTON – Chapel Road from its junction with Bears Road for 40m eastwards to facilitate remedial works from 17th to 18th November 2025 (may continue until 30th December 2025).

    POSTWICK WITH WITTON & OTHERS

    1. A1270 Broadland Northway from its junction with A47 Slip Road to its junction with A1151 Wroxham Road Roundabout and

    2. A1270 Broadland Northway from its junction with the A1551 Wroxham Road Roundabout to its junction with A140 Cromer Road/Holt Road flyover and

    3. A1270 Broadland Northway from its junction with A140 Cromer Road/Holt Road flyover to its junction with A1067 Fakenham Road

    • Road 1 will be temporarily closed/restricted (except for pedestrian access)

    • Road 2 will be temporarily subject to a 30mph speed restriction

    WOODBASTWICK – C285 Slad Lane from 470m southwest of its junction with C441 Southfield Lane for 50m south-westwards (the “Road”) to facilitate air valve cover and frame replacement works from 18th to 20th November 2025 (may continue until 1st January 2026).

    Alternative route is via: Slad Lane, The Street, Southfield Lane, B1140 Low Road/Norwich Road/Mill Road, Lower Street, Slad Lane (Salhouse, Woodbastwick).

    ASHILL – U33388/20 Acacia Avenue from 40m north of its junction with U33388/10 Acacia Avenue for 25m northwards to facilitate communication pipe repair works from 17th to 19th November 2025 (may continue until 31st December 2025).
