What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF LEGGATTS RISE, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Leggatts Rise, Watford from its junction with Rushton Avenue north westwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Rushton Avenue, Clarke Way, Evans Avenue and Leggatts Rise.
The Order is needed because the replacement of existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MILTON STREET, WATFORD) ORDER NO.2 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Milton Street, Watford from its junction with Garfield Street north westwards to its junction with Shakespeare Street, a distance of approximately 72m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Garfield Street, Leavesden Road and Shakespeare Street.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 3 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF TOMS LANE, KINGS LANGLEY) ORDER NO.3 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Toms Lane, Kings Langley from its junction with Hilltop Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 300m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Toms Lane, High Street, Red Lion Lane, High Street, Gallows Hill Lane, Gallows Hill, Station Road, Primrose Hill and Toms Lane.
The Order is needed because electrical works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN WATFORD AND RICKMANSWORTH) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):
1. That length of Coningsby Drive, Watford from its junction with Parkside Drive north westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However, access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. That length of Hagden Lane, Watford from its junction with A412 Rickmansworth Road south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with Euston Avenue, a distance of approximately 556m.
An alternative route will be via A412 Rickmansworth Road, A4178 (Cassio Road/Wiggenhall Road/Farraline Road) and A4145 (Vicarage Road) or via Hagden Lane, A4145 (Hagden Lane/Vicarage Road), A4178 (Fearnley Street/The Hornets/Merton Road/Cassio Road) and A412 Rickmansworth Road.
3. That length of A4145 Hagden Lane, Watford from its junction with A4145 Tolpits Lane south eastwards, north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with A4145 Vicarage Road, a distance of approximately 565m.
An alternative route will be via Hagden Lane, A412 Rickmansworth Road, A4178 (Cassio Road/Merton Road/Wiggenhall Road/Farraline Road) and A4145 Vicarage Road or via Hagden Lane, A4145 (Hagden Lane/Vicarage Road), A4178 (Fearnley Street/The Hornets/Merton Road/Cassio Road) and A412 Rickmansworth Road.
4. That length of Lower High Street, Watford from its junction with A411 Waterfields Way north westwards for a distance of approximately 50m.
An alternative route will be via A411 (Waterfields Way/Beechen Grove) and Lower High Street or via Lower High Street and A411 (Exchange Road/Beechen Grove/Waterfields Way/Lower High Street/Dalton Way/Waterfields Way).
5 That length of Mount View, Rickmansworth from its junction with Park Way south westwards to its junction with Field Way, a distance of approximately 111m.
An alternative route will be via Park Way, A412 Uxbridge Road, Field Way and Mount View.
6. That length of A412 St Albans Road, Watford from its junction with A41 The Dome roundabout to its junction with ‘Odhams Trading Estate’ access road, a distance of approximately 146m.
An alternative route will be via A41 (North Western Avenue/North Western Avenue Colne Way), A4008 Stephenson Way, A411 Beechen Grove (Exchange Road/Waterfields Way) and A412 St Albans Road or via A412 St Albans Road, A411 Beechen Grove, A4008 Stephenson Way, A41 North Western Avenue Colne Way/North Western Avenue and A412 St Albans Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF QUICKLEY LANE, CHORLEYWOOD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Quickley Lane, Chorleywood from its junction with Hillside Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 33m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Quickley Lane, Chorleywood Bottom, Common Gate Road, Berry Lane, Stag Lane, Rendlesham Way and Quickley Lane or via Quickley Lane, Lower Road, Shire Lane, Heronsgate Road and Quickley Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VILLIERS ROAD, WATFORD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Villiers Road, Watford from its junction with A4008 Pinner Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 26m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A4008 Pinner Road, Capel Road and Villiers Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 December 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE NORTH EAST SIDE OF NO.28 CAISHOWE ROAD, BOREHAMWOOD) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated on the north east side of No.28 Caishowe Road, Borehamwood from its junction with Caishowe Road south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Bracken Close, a distance of approximately 101m (“the Footpath”).
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south east side of Caishowe Road, the footway situated on the south west side of Oddesey Road, the footway situated on the north west side of Hartforde Road and the footway situated on the north east side of Bracken Close.
The Order is needed because the demolition of existing derelict garages is proposed to be carried out near the Footpath.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VALE ROAD, BUSHEY) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Vale Road, Bushey from its junction with B462 Aldenham Road south eastwards to its junction with A411 London Road, a distance of approximately 195m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via B462 Aldenham Road, Hillside Road, Grange Road and A411 London Road or via B462 Aldenham Road, A411 Chalk Hill and A411 London Road.
The Order is needed because remedial works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN A41 TYLERS WAY, WATFORD) ORDER NO.2 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the northbound carriageway of A41 Tylers Way, Watford from its junction with the A411 Elstree Road roundabout north westwards to its junction with Dagger Lane, a distance of approximately 2850m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A411 (Elstree Road/Sparrows Herne/High Street/ London Road/Chalk Hill/Lower High Road/Waterfields Way), A4008 Stephenson Way and A41 (North Western Avenue/Elton Way/Tylers Way).
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF HIGH STREET AND PARSONAGE ROAD, RICKMANSWORTH) ORDER 2025
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:
1. That length of High Street, Rickmansworth from its junction with Wensum Way and the entrance to Watersmeet north westwards to its junction with Church Street, a distance of approximately 132m.
An alternative route will be via Wensum Way, A404 Riverside Drive, Church Street and High Street.
2. That length of Parsonage Road, Rickmansworth from its junction with Rectory Lane westwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 44m.
An alternative route will be via Parsonage Road, A412 Rectory Road, Wensum Way and High Street.
The Order is needed because ducting works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 17 November 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
