What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL
(MARSH STREET AND MACADAM STREET, BARROW IN FURNESS)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of Marsh Street leading on to and across and including that section of Macadam Street, Barrow in Furness from Marsh Streets’ junction with the A5087 Salthouse Road, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 40 metres. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the A5087 Salthouse Road, Rawlinson Street, Lumley Street and the unrestricted section of Marsh Street.

The Order will come into operation on 3rd December 2025 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 8 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
