What is happening?
SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH)
(STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2019 (IPSWICH) (PRINCES STREET) (B1075) (TAXI RANK) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTIONS) (REVOCATION) (VARIATION NO. 45) ORDER 202-
Suffolk County Council proposes to make the above order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which would substitute revision 1 of Map Tile GM121 in place of revision 0 of the same Map Tile, into the above-named 2019 Order. The effect of this would be to remove the existing Taxi Rank restrictions:
‘Taxi Rank Any Day Midnight - 4am’ on:
The west side of Princes Street (B1075), Ipswich, from a starting at a point 46 metres south of its junction with West End Road and Commercial Road for a distance of 30 metres in a westerly direction.
Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load and unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services; and for fulfilling statutory duties. There are the usual exemptions for blue badge-holders.
Copies of the draft Order, map showing the roads affected and the council’s reasons for the proposals, may be seen with advance notice at the address below, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday; also at Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich IP1 3DE, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am to 6pm; Tuesday and Friday 9am - 7pm; Saturday 8.30am - 5pm; and Sunday 10am - 4pm; excluding Bank Holidays and Public Holidays.
Objections and any other representations relating to these proposals, specifying the grounds on which they are made, must reach Sophia Henry (Suffolk County Council Legal Services) at the address below or at:
