Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) Drynham Lane (Part), Trowbridge; from its property known as Drynham Lodge Farm for a distance of approximately 335m in a south easterly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out mains and associated works. Alternative route via Drynham Lane (unaffected length) – Wiltshire Drive – Bradley Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 08 December 2025 and the closure will be required until 19 December 2025. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 600 4600.
B) A3102 (Part), Melksham; from its junction with C381 to its junction with Union Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out texture blasting of road surface and associated works. Alternative route via A3102 (unaffected length) – C502 – C328 – A365 – A350 – A3102 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 10 December 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 until 16 December 2025, no weekend working. C) Bewley Lane (Part), Lacock; from its property known as No.19 Bewley Lane for a distance of approximately 60m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to lay communication cables safely and associated works. Alternative route via Bewley Lane (unaffected length) – Mons Lane East Through Rey Bridge to Bewley Lane – C150 – C155 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 December 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. D) C86 (Part), Corsham; from a point approximately 780m north of its junction with A4 for a distance of approximately 117m in a north westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway retexturing works and other associated works. Alternative route via C86 (unaffected length) – C159 – A4 – C86 (unaffected length) and vice versa. E) Ragleth Grove (Part), Trowbridge; from its property known as No.09 Ragleth Grove to the end of the publicly maintainable highway to enable Openreach to carry out installation of ducting and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation at 08:00 on 17 November 2025 and the closure will be required until 18:00 on 19 November 2025. F) Foundry Road (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with Shipton Hill for a distance of approximately 58m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out customer service dig works and other associated works. Alternative route via Shipton Hill – Gloucester Road – Bristol Street – Harpers Lane – West Street (one-way) – West Street – Burnham Road – Foundry Road (unaffected length) and vice versa. G) UC 874001 (Part), Longbridge Deverill; from its junction across to its property known as No.38 The Marsh.
H) UC 874002 (Part), Longbridge Deverill; from its junction with UC 874001 for a distance of approximately 35m in a north westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out lift and repair and associated works. Alternative route via UC 874001 (unaffected length) – Sand Street – A350 – UC 874002 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. I) Woolley Street (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with Woolley Terrace for a distance of approximately 70m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out works to replace covers and associated works. Alternative route via A363 (unaffected length) – B3108 – B3107 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation at 09:00 on 17 November 2025 and the closure will be required until 15:00 on 17 November 2025. J) Woolley Street (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with Whiteheads Lane for a distance of approximately 36m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out works to replace covers and associated works. Alternative route via High Street – Norton Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 17 November 2025 and the closure will be required until 28 November 2025. K) A350 (Part), Longbridge Deverill and Warminster; from its junction at Dry Hill to its roundabout junction with A36 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via A36 – A303 – A350 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 November 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 1 night. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (BYWAYS 21 AND 22, HILPERTON AND BYWAY 9A SEMINGTON) (PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that on 5 November 2025 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order (previously advertised as The County of Wiltshire (Byways 21 and 22, Hilperton and Byway 9A Semington) (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Experimental Order 2024) under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to:
Prohibit the use by motor vehicles of Wiltshire (Byways 21 and 22, Hilperton and Byway 9A Semington) (Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Experimental Order 2024 and it is now made a Prohibition of Motor Vehicles (except for access) on the Order named as:
Byways 21 and 22, Hilperton and Byway 9A, Semington.
A copy of the Order and plan may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, Trowbridge during normal office hours.
Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or any of the provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Acts, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or Part II of Schedule 9 of the Act has not been complied with, may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Order will come into operation on 19 November 2025.
