ORDER NO 1 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in exercise of their powers under section 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’ of 1984), the Road Traffic Act 1991 (“the Act of 1991”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with The Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984 propose to make an order the effect of which will be to:
1. To enact the provisions contained therein subject to the following:
a. To introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ in the following lengths of road:
Arthur Moody Drive, Carisbrooke, on the west side, between its junction with Forest Hills and a point 16 metres south thereof.
Broadwood Lane, Newport, on the south side, between a point 12 metres west to a point 34.5 metres west of its junction with Gunville Road.
Broadwood Lane, Newport, on the south side, between a point 89.5 metres west to a point 120.5 metres west of its junction with Gunville Road.
Broadwood Lane, Newport, on the north side, between its junction with Park Close to a point 14.5 metres west thereof.
Broadwood Lane, Newport, on the north-west side, between a point 67 metres west and a point 87.5 metres west of its junction with Park Close.
Broadwood Lane, Newport, on the southwest side, from its junction with Forest Hill to a point 16 metres west thereof.
Forest Hills, Carisbrooke, on the west side, between its junctions with Broadwood Lane and a point 15.5 metres south thereof.
Forest Hills, Carisbrooke, on the north-west side, between its junctions with Arthur Moody Drive and a point 22.5 metres north-east thereof.
Forest Hills (cul-de-sac section), Carisbrooke, on the south side, from its junction with Arthur Moody Drive to the end of the highway.
Forest Hills (cul-de-sac section), Carisbrooke, on the north side, from its junction with Arthur Moody Drive to a point 16 metres west thereof.
Park Close, Newport, on the west side, from its junction with Broadwood Lane to a point 10.5 metres north thereof.
The amendments are being proposed for avoiding danger to people or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising, and for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians). The proposals are required for a new development as well as recommendations made by the Isle of Wight Council to address other sections of the highway that will be affected.
A copy of the draft Order, this Notice, and the relevant plan may be inspected between normal office hours at the Customer Service Centre, County Hall, Newport, Isle of Wight during the objection period.
