What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
RIVER LANE AND PART OF LONG LANE,
MARKET WEIGHTON

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the
effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing
any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding on foot/
whether on foot, pedal cycle or on horseback along
River Lane and Part of Long Lane, Market Weighton
between 08.00 hours until 17.00 hours commencing
18 November 2025 until 24 November 2025.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
River Lane and Long Lane, Market Weighton works, to
be carried out and completed in a manner consistent
with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated
that the works will be completed within seven days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is
via River Lane, Holme Road, Holme Road Roundabout,
Giant Bradley Way, Oak Road, Cliffe Road and Long
Lane, Market Weighton CP, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The roads will be closed to all through traffic but
remain open at all times to pedestrians and for
vehicular access to properties directly affected by the
closure and for emergency services. The Order will
commence 18 November 2025 and continue in force
for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until
the works which it is proposed to carry out have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.
