Footpath 59, Bredbury And Romiley - Temporary Closure
What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (FOOTPATH 59, BREDBURY AND ROMILEY) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) NOTICE 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport has made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which introduced a Temporary Closure of Footpath 59, Bredbury and Romiley (Clapgate), from the eastern junction with Footpath 60 BR, up to the junction with Bridleway 56 BR, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said footpath. This Order is necessary to allow improvement works to take place. It is estimated that the works will take around 2 days. The following diversions will be provided: For Footpath: Access will be available through Footpath 60 BR, onward to Footpath 61 BR and further onto Bridleway 56 BR. For Bridleway: Access will be available from junction of Footpath 59 BR, along Bridleway 56 BR, and further onwards onto Restricted Byway 82 BR. This Order came into operation on 13 November 2025 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
