Ashford, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

ASHFORD AREA



A28 Chart Road, Ashford, TN23 3HZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025

To allow bridge examination works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Chart Road, Ashford from 22:00 hours on 8th December 2025, with estimated completion by 06:00 hours on 9th December 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed 20m either side of the railway bridge, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic eastbound is via Chart Road Roundabout, A28 Templar Way, Simone Weil Roundabout, A292 Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Maidstone Road, New Street and Chart Road.

The alternative route for any through traffic westbound is via A292 Chart Road, Maidstone Road South Of Simone Weil Roundabout, Simone Weil Roundabout, A28 Templar Way and Chart Road Roundabout.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Church Lane, Shadoxhurst, TN26 1LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025

To allow excavation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Lane, Shadoxhurst from 8th December 2025 with estimated completion by 12th December 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Hill Crest, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Lane, Woodchurch Road, Hornash Lane, Hamstreet Road, Birchett Lane, Longrope and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Church Road, Smeeth, TN25 6SA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Smeeth from 24th November 2025, with estimated completion by 5th December 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Oakleigh and the Telecommunication Mast, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Road, The Ridgeway, A20 Hythe Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Church Road, Stone, TN30 7JT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025

To allow remedial works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Stone from 8th December 2025 with estimated completion by 10th December 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Old School House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Church Road, The Street, Catts Hill, Top Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Dicksons Bourne, Aldington, TN25 7DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025

To allow water mains works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Dicksons Bourne, Aldington from 24th November 2025, with estimated completion by 24th December 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Frith Road and Mill Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Frith Road, Roman Road, Forge Hill, Mill Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Dowle Street Road, Pluckley, TN27 0RY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025

To allow pole and cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Dowle Street Road, Pluckley from 10th December 2025 with estimated completion by 11th December 2025, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed approximately 165m east of Little Chambers Green, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Dowle Street Road, Station Road, The Street, Forge Hill, Charing Road, Swan Lane, Little Chart Road, West Street, Bethersden Road, Pluckley Road, Sparrow Hatch Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Lossenham Lane, Newenden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025

To allow new connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lossenham Lane, Newenden from 26th November 2025 for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Rother Valley Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Ram Lane, Little Chart, TN25 4LT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ram Lane, Little Chart from 24th November 2025, with estimated completion by 5th December 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between The Mount and 100m past the property, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ram Lane, Little Chart Road, West Street, School Road, Station Road, Cades Road and Maidstone Road.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



The Street, Hastingleigh.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Hastingleigh from 24th November 2025, with estimated completion by 26th November 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Vigo Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Waltham Road, Ashenfield Road, Woods Hill, Richdore Road, Kake Street, Anvil Green Road, Broadway, B2068 Town Road, Stone Street, Thorn Lane, Dean Hill, Dean Bottom, Spong Lane, From Dean Bottom To Holt Farm, From Dean Bottom To District Boundary and Evington Road From Junction With The Street To Boundary Line.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Tuesnoad Lane, Bethersden.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER DECEMBER 2025

To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tuesnoad Lane, Bethersden from 8th December 2025, with estimated completion by 10th December 2025, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with Pluckley Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tuesnoad Lane, Wissenden Green, Wissenden Lane, Norton Lane, Pluckley Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.



Westwell Lane, Westwell & Charing.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2025

To allow tree cutting works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Westwell Lane, Westwell & Charing from 24th November 2025 for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Wootton Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wootton Lane, A20 Ashford Road, A20 Maidstone Road, Westwell Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
